Glad I checked the schedule. Was guessing that the team would get a day to fly from Sacramento to Minneapolis.

7:40 on SNY. Gametime weather forecast is 46 degrees, with not quite enough rain to postpone.

Joe Ryan on the mound for the Twins. I don't think I've ever heard of him, but his numbers suggest he's good. Career WHIP of 1.06. Seems like the guy doesn't walk anyone. Career ERA is 3.88, so maybe he gives up lots of HRs or something.

Clay Holmes for us.

And Baty, coming off a good day, sits against a righty. Can't be much clearer that he's headed for Syracuse in a few days.

I believe we are going to see Acuna play everyday for a very long time

Wet and cold. Rain between 9-10pm. They'll play but ouch

Windy too, which always makes the cold and wet so much
more enjoyable, with gusts up to 30 mph...

Let‘s see Acoonie tear up some basepaths.

His wheels buy the Mets a run.

It is kind of amazing, however, what a high percentage of oven-mitt guys diving into second over-slide. A clever infielder might occasionally pass on trying to tag the runner before he gets to the base, and instead just let him slide in while diving in right behind him as he overslides.

I like how big the lettering is on the front of the Twins uniform.

Doesn't the stadium have a roof?

In 15 games this year Lindor has reached base leading off the 1st eight times (6 hits, one walk, one error).
But despite being on 1st w/no outs four times, and on 2nd w/no outs three times, he's scored just two 1st inning runs.
One of those runs was via his own HR. The other was on an Alonso HR.
The rest of the 1st inning ABs behind him yielded a total of one single and two BBs. All the rest were outs including three GiDPs
That's a lot of wasted opportunities.

The have a really massive Flo out there in the outfield promoting the company that has their division rival's stadium naming rights. I keep seeing that ad and thinking I've made a mistake and they're playing the Guardians and not the Twins.

Also, Soto looks like he has joined the grounds crew.

Homeruns by grounds-crew members are also pretty sweet and gratifying.

I was about to say he needs to find a new spot in the lineup before
because batting second isn't working and then he blasts a ding dong.

Or course he did...

Lots of good signs, Vientos driving a ball into the gap for a ribeye for the second game in a row, and an actual Juan Soto appearance, plus continued stellar bullpen work. Mets beating teams that they should be beating, thus far

Well, Baty can always use it.

Acuna will in the lineup almost everyday I suspect

He's a player that brings positive chaos to the diamond

Baty might get a stay of execution with Siri out. Acuna has played CF in the minors, not a lot, but maybe enough to get penciled in out there

On a pregame Zeile was of the opinion that Baty seems to be more interested in not making an out than taking aggressive hack. Vientos has also looked that way imho

This team is going to win a lot of games
