Re: NY Mets Twitter Takes
i'm willing to surmise that sal licata is either an idiot, or just a man who is willing to say idiotic things to get ratings. possibly both at the same time.
this is nonsensery at the highest level. the evidence presented is, 'the mets did bad. pete is still here. he must be the problem.'
if the biggest piece of rationalization presented is that the mets supposedly were willing to listen to offers on pete, well, fuck, you don't think that if they really felt he was the problem and therefore wanted to move him, they couldn't have gotten a decent package in return!? jesus hairy christ.
now look, if you wanted to tell me that pete was part of the problem in the rudderless rojas era, ok, sure. i don't see him as bristling against buck, or not putting in work. hell, he was on fire at the start of the season, when we sucked, then he got hit on the fucking wrist and sucked himself for a bit, and is on fire now, while we suck again.
he looks like he's trying to help his team out there each night that i catch a game, and seems very well liked in the dugout by players and managers alike.
if there's friction afoot, it's very well hidden - that's for damned sure. wait, is the problem that he's too well-liked in the dugout?!

Licata, a loudmouth guy on SNY and WFAN who yells a lot.
If you don't know who he is, you're not missing much.

I have never insulted anyone. I simply describe them, accurately.

He's on Baseball Night in NY? I don't pay attention to names sometimes.

Re: NY Mets Twitter Takes
Seems to me that if he is going to tarnish someone's reputation -- and calling a very popular, star player a clubhouse cancer is definitely tarnishing his reputation -- he needs to source it a little better.
It's also the first I'm seeing Pete being described that way. If anything, we've heard the opposite over the last five years. So I suspect most readers, like the ones here, will question the commenter rather than Pete. If it is true, then get someone on record saying so, preferably a current or former teammate.

Re: NY Mets Twitter Takes
Maybe he's trying to chase Pete out of New York like Dick Young did with Tom Seaver.

He's a tool - one of the many reasons I stopped listening to WFAN.
He's just throwing crap out there to get a response, and it seems like it's working...

I doubt that he has a nephew (or was it a son?) working for the Mets GMBenjamin Grimm wrote: ↑Fri Aug 11, 2023 3:11 pm Maybe he's trying to chase Pete out of New York like Dick Young did with Tom Seaver.

That "Follow" link next to SUP's profile pic is ... not that enticing.

Jeez, somebody needs to tell these people that it's December 7, not March 1.

Sorry Jahss, I can't read the replies nor reply.
The Yanks traded for Soto, they didn't sign him. It's after noon, go slip out of
your 'got rings' PJ's and please take a nice shower. While your lathering up try
to remember that Yankee trades have nothing to do with Mets superstars.
That is what is actually happening here and you're welcome in advance.

They can get him next year when all he costs is money.
Even duct tape can't fix stupid. But it can sure muffle the sound.

Re: NY Mets Twitter Takes
I'm sure all teams have fans like this, but I only pay attention to the Mets, and I have to say that I'm really tired of this. If you're old enough to have a job, pay bills, and you're no longer a virgin, you should have more of a sense of perspective about the teams you root for. Enjoy when they win, but don't go out of your way to generate angst for every little thing that doesn't go your way.If this Juan Soto trade doesn’t bother you as a Mets fan, your really aren’t one.

I hate Twitter, Elon Musk can fuck right off. I bounced from that site when they took my precious Tweetdeck away.

Re: NY Mets Twitter Takes
This moron realizes that a 1980s “one that got away” for the MFYs actually made the baseball HOF this past summer?a prospect that will amount to nothing because most Yankee prospects do
Actually you can apply “most…prospects do” to every franchise. But it is easier to wait out a Boras client’s contract year than it is to fork over a recently replenished farm’s trade bait pieces in the hopes that the benefit of a fire sale can turn into a Mike Piazza, who, IIRC, did not actually file for free agency!
