For a minor league no name
I eventually had success

He was part of the pitching corps. He was born by Lake Erie's shore. He's gone down in Mets pitching lore. He also has a Dodger shirt in his drawer. He had the hots for Drew Barrymore!stevejrogers wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 6:05 amDon’t overthink when it comes to trying to match a rhyme with 94 ;)
Four is maybe the easiest rhyme in the book! It's no excuse for Met fans to create a false narrative to justify their self-pity.
Re: Guess that Met
Self-pity is what Mets fans do.
Re: Guess that Met
I love being a Mets fan. A lot of folks do. Self-pity is beneath the dignity of a Shaolin monk.

Re: Guess that Met
Actually, I don't think "self-pity" is the right term, since we're not really pitying ourselves. We all love being Mets fans, since we continue to follow and root for them despite their continued foibles. I think pessimistic rather than self-pitying defines Mets fans. Anywho, Matt Franco is correct. Bonus points (won't count in the tally) if anyone can name the other guy.

4 sounds like Juan Berringer
Re: Guess that Met
Russell and Billy Taylor are correct. I guess I totally missed it, but Taylor at the time had been the A's closer, and he had been their closer for a few years before then. I'd always assumed he was just another middle reliever. Juan Berenguer is incorrect, but a good guess as he did end up pitching (unsuccessfully) for the Braves. The correct answer came a few years later. He might have gone to the Reds before going to the Braves, and he might have last pitched in 2006.

Number two is Jesus Feliciano.
Re: Guess that Met
Ventura and Jesus Feliciano are correct! Pedro would have also been accepted. A couple new questions have been added (you'll pick up on the theme of the next few pretty quickly).

And they used me as a starter
I did bad and realized
Relieving can't be harder

Who am I?
Hint: Played for the Mets in 1994 and 1995.
2. I played two years with the Mets
And I didn't do too great
My offensive skills were lacking
That goes without debate
At second base I played
And boy, did the Mets fleece me

Who am I?
Hint: Debuted with the Mets in 2003.

Hint: Debuted with the Mets in 1984.

Buzz Capra it is not. The correct answer might or might not have been traded for a fella named Cobi Cradle. Hints have been added for the rest.
