Anyway... figures that we'd take the slow boat to an announcement, with copious leaks and low-level/anonymous employees leaking their opinions to the media. Verrry on-brand, as the young'uns say. Now, if they let him go, it looks all the more as if they got bullied into this. If they stand behind him, it looks mealy-mouthed rather than strong, no matter what's said. Beltran should've PIVOTED. He needs to take some PR lessons. Then get up before the podium and just change the subject. He should've had a press conference about the Pelopynesian Wars or something. Talk about how we're all working together and how it's a shame all this negative talk about negative stuff. I bet anything that by the end of that presser, everybody and the whole wide world would've forgotten that there even was an Astros sign-stealing scandal.
