That'll fill that Ohtani-sized hole in the Angels' roster.
Re: New Towns, New Threads, New Homes, New Beds: Offseason Transactions in 2023-2024
Rhys Hoskins signs for two years with the Brewers.
Hope for the best. Expect the Mets.

But they won't have to find Treasure Island to pay for his contract.

Paxton to the Dodgers, too. They've filled out their rotation and Clayton Kershaw is still floating around in the free agency ether.

Still effective when he can make his starts, but an avg of 22 GS/125 IP over the last three seasons
and a total of 2 starts/5.1 IP (and 9 ER) in the post-season despite all those LAD games
Turns 36 during ST

I was thinking like Orel Hershiser, plus it would give the Dodgers a black eye

Hector Neris is a North Sider.
Hope for the best. Expect the Mets.

And trade for Greinke, too. Then the Mets could be the team where Hall of Fame bound pitchers go to decline and suck.

I'm not sure we need to make those moves to be so known.

Yeah, I'm all for getting guys in decline as long as expectations are managed, and they aren't acquired by dealing off guys in incline.
Or get deployed so as to block guys in incline.

New ownership grabs big name. Right outta the Steve Cohen playbook?

Not a new team or town but 23 y/o KCR SS Bobby Witt Jr., preparing to enter his 3rd ML season, just scored himself a tidy little 11 year
contract with options that can take it to 14 years. At somewhere between $288 to #377 million (depending on them option things) it's
believed to be the biggest deal for any Royal aside from the one recently completed by the late Elizabeth II of the London franchise.

But we're not sure how much the Royal family is paying Meghan Markle to stay out of England.

Same town, same threads, same home, same bed for still a Dodger Clayton Kershaw
Hope for the best. Expect the Mets.

Another one-year deal for the guy.
Third year in a row he became a free agent. Third year in a row he returned to the Dodgers for a single season.
A strange ongoing relationship that's somehow working for both parties.

Kershaw, btw, will be unavailable for the first half of the 2024 season due to off-season shoulder surgery.
Dodgers have yet to announce the deal as it's pending on his physical which might not be a slam dunk.
