Early speculation is that a well rested Tylor Megill will face off against Zack Wheeler in game 1 Saturday. That makes sense to me, he'd be the only starter ready to go on normal rest, having not pitched since Monday.

Boy, if they were playing with house money before, they're REALLY playing with house money now.

Have to wash last night's t-shirt and wear it again on Saturday. And Sunday. And Tuesday. And Wednesday and Thursday (if needed).

I feel bad for Bob Uecker, but just a little.
He was in the other booth with his headset on. Here's his call:

I don’t know about fire and passion. But certainly their approach should have been better. Shortening up. Going the other way. Extending at-bats. All of them swinging out of their shoes.

Awful to watch.
What's crazy is that in the 9th inning the suddenly Mets did all of these things. Lindor, who in fairness was producing all game, extended his AB with multiple foul balls and worked out a walk. Pete shortened up and went the other way. Marte drove in the insurance run by going to RF.

It just occurred to me that it's nice that Peterson was on the mound for that. It's become so unlikely for a starting pitcher to get a chance to celebrate a series clincher on the mound anymore.

Diaz getting the win and Peterson the save is certainly some odd applesauce.

You advanced and that's great, but the NFL teams don't do this after every playoff win. They just keep playing. To me there should be 3 occasions for the goggles and drenching - 1) clinched the playoff spot, 2) won the pennant, and 3) winning the World Series. All the other stuff is just in between stuff you need to do to get from 1 -> 2 and 2 -> 3.
They suffer from premature exultation.
