If I was Steve Cohen, I would hire a wounded army veteran pilot or two, buy them a decent house near my favorite airport, and pay them to just be on call.

I'm actually really worried that we won't get Yamamoto, and he'll end up with the MFY

Cohen's got the most money, but it seems as if practically every single team with deep pockets is in on the Yamamoto chase.

Me, too.
I know that Stearns met with him in Japan, which shows respect. But the MFYs are meeting with him today. And the guy who gets in the last meeting can say "I can top that".

The Yankees have way more prestige, are set up better, and just got Juan Soto. Also, the Yanks have sent a scout to observe every single one of Yamamoto's starts last season. The Mets have Cohen's money.

The Mets also have Kodai Senga, for however much (or little) that may be worth.

I really think Yamamoto is going to end up in New York. I really don't know which borough, though. This is a very high-stakes offseason.

so seems like the thinking is, get Yamamoto while he's available and if he doesn't come on board go for the Wacha-Porcello-Capuano-Young kinda rotation.

Nothing in Sherman’s article about what was served, which is all I can think about.
Hope for the best. Expect the Mets.

I read somewhere half tray of both cold and hot antipasto and a
half dozen boxes of pizza with assorted toppings.

Nothing but the best, at Uncle Steve's.

If Trump were the owner he'd have served Mickey D's take out.

He has to be a Burger King guy though right? Ronald McDonald isn't his cup of tea - he orders a whopper and wears that paper crown!

There was one of those 'championship sports team goes to the White House' event during the tRump administration (I think
it was a college football team) where the food offering was fast food burgers and cokes. I think it was from McDonalds but it
really doesn't matter.

Ivanka probably put that burger down right after the photo, washed her hands with a warm towel and ordered the foie gras.

I'm sure that Uncle Steve knew exactly what was Yamamoto's favorite dish and had it as the main course.
Even duct tape can't fix stupid. But it can sure muffle the sound.
