I got an eight today. It wasn't the Dodgers MVP that tripped me up, however. I missed on a wrong guess for Tigers MVP -- my first guess was Kirk Gibson.

Kirk coulda been your Dodgers' MVP.

I scored with John Wockenfuss as the Phillie-Tiger

He coulda slid Willie Hernandez in the MVP slot, too.

Yeah, Willie was my Tiger MVP, though I was briefly nervous I'd pick the wrong Willie Hernandez, because the MVP was also known as Guillermo for part of his career. it was another relatively easy grid because there was only one team in the column headings, and it was a familiar one.

All three of my MVPs were lesser lights than my Silver Sluggers, and I guess that's a safer way to play.

Eight out of nine. I coulda took the gimme on the Angels Silver Slugger and went with Mike Trout but I was going for rarity scores and so I typed in Rod Carew, which was a wrong answer.

So I looked this up and forgot that Carew switched from second base to first base when he signed with the Angels. Because I was thinking to myself, how the hell did Carew not win a single Silver Slugger with the Angels? Who was better at second base --- every single season?

A pretty elderly grid if I do say so myself. An unimpressive rarity score of 210, but immaculate nonetheless.

I wanted to use Tommy Harper for the Brewers 30SB player for rarity score purpose, but I had already used him for MIL/OAK. I woulda swapped in Tommie Reynolds for MIL/OAK, lowering my score.

Missed the Brewer-Red Sock. Brewers suck. Scored with Endy Chaves as Washington 30 steal man

I typed "Joe Jackson" in several times as today's 200-hit White Sock, and nobody came up until I realized I had to submit him as "Shoeless Joe Jackson." Now I know I have to type "Mopey" if I ever want to submit Mike Piazza.

Also, holy crap! Ken Griffey, Jr. was a White Sock!

I only recall this because there was an episode where he was captured on camera dozing in the dugout during a late season game sometime near the very end of his tenure there.
