Lorn Brown is correct!

1. My career [was] just [20] games
over 2 seasons, not the same.
The roster was filled with others the same
not position or talent, by that I mean name.

Who am I?

Hint: Debuted for the Mets in 2007
Hint: Shared first name with three other Mets
Hint: Is from Torrance, California

2. I pitched but a year in a Mets uniform
And I did not do well while it was worn
That season was also the extent of my career
Indeed it lasted just that one single year
Seaver had over 20 wins that season
But me, I got less than 10 for some reason
You could say my career could have been greater
But hey, at least I allowed just eight Taters

Who am I?

Hint: Had 5-13 record in sole season with NY.
Hint: Played for Mets in 1975.

3. Back home I was good, or so it was said
the Metropolitans signed me after I fled.
I liked to throw junk
and got in a funk
[Then] my career [was] sunk.

5. A pitcher, I was an All-Star once
Unlike my friends Doug, Steve and Dan
They came to the Mets with me
For a single, talented man

While "I got in a funk and then my career was sunk" applies to almost everybody, Cuba and 2006 suggest that #4 is Alay Soler.

to such heights I rose.
It took a few years for the stories to filter out
I faded so quickly

Long before the whispers and stories

I returned to New York
but a Met not to be
I ended my time as a Yankee.

Bobby M. Jones is a great guess, but incorrect. This man is of Hispanic descent and debuted for the Mets in 2007.

I’m torn between Neil Allen and Ron Swoboda for #4? But I’ve never heard Swoboda had drinking issues.

Number 4 is neither Swoboda or Allen. It might have been an outfielder who had one big year in New York. As for number 5, he came around about the same time as other pitching greats like Jeff D'Amico and John Thomson.

Neither Straw, though he does fit the addictions clue, nor Beltran…and Beltran ended as an Astro

Claudell Washington wasn’t really BIG in NY…

Returned as a MFY doesn’t necessarily mean as a player?

He was an expert at hitting triples in the 1990s, leading the league in that category multiple times. And he did return to NY as a player, in the Bronx, but briefly.

It is Lance Johnson, and I can't find anything concrete on his drinking habits, either. Oh well.

And one more thing - aint it a dandy
My father, his name is Randy

Estes and Harrelson are correct! Well done. Two new ones have been added, I'll add more hints tomorrow, or perhaps later today if we churn through a couple more today.

yet my repertoire was rather tame.
My other teams totaled five
one was only a short drive.

It's safe to say my greatest year was '60
When I hit .286, a best
Not much later though, they nixed me
And I ended up with the Mets.

5. I played for the Mets for my whole career
