Gotta be the 1st Cody for Cody Challenge Trade ever
Re: Non-NYM off-season moves
Cody's wife once dated Giancarlo Stanton , could be awkward I guess

Re: Non-NYM off-season moves
What a wacky career to date for Bellinger:
- RoY at age 21, MVP at 23
- then injured his shoulder during a post-season HR celebration
- was considered the Dodgers best defensive CF on their team and also their best defensive 1B (not your usual combination of defensive positions) and yet last season, at just age 28, got almost 19% of his PAs as a DH.
- OPS numbers of 933, 814, 1035, 789, 542, 654, 881, and 751, which means that in half of the seasons in his eight year career his OPS has jumped or fallen over 200+ points (twice each way) from the previous year. Put another way, he had an OPS+ score of 167 and 44 just two years apart while in his mid-20s (2019 & 2021)
- and still won't turn 30 until next July (meaning 2025 will be considered his age 29 season)
Like I said when the Yanx swung the trade for Giancarlo Stanton: how well it works out depends on which version you get.

Injured during a post game celebration is right up there with "punched a wall and broke my hand" in the pantheon of dumb ass baseball injuries. Ask Edwin Diaz, he'll tell youFrayed Knot wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2024 8:52 pm What a wacky career to date for Bellinger:

Christian Walker agrees to terms with Astros.
Hope for the best. Expect the Mets.

Helps our Pete chances, but significantly reduces our Christian Walker chances.
Re: Non-NYM off-season moves
That's some deep k'nowledge.
Got my hair cut correct like Anthony Mason
Re: Non-NYM off-season moves
3 and 60 for Walker, which is downright reasonable give the offseason to this point.

Re: Non-NYM off-season moves
There's one fewer first base option for the Mets. If they were torn between Walker and Pete, for example, then their decision is made for them.
Or maybe they can go for Pete Walker.

And one fewer suitor for Pete (unless that move just brought Arizona into the mix).

Three years for Walker, but he's nearly four years older than Pete and not the same level of power.

Historically yes, but Walker and Alonso had basically the same offensive output the last 2 seasons (and with Gold Glove defense from Walker).Frayed Knot wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 9:18 pmThree years for Walker, but he's nearly four years older than Pete and not the same level of power.
I’d still prefer Pete but Walker off the market might be the best alternative now off the market.

wrong thread.
Yankees traded C Jose Trevino to the Reds for RP Fernando Cruz & C Alex Jackson.
Cruz can throw hard

Re: Non-NYM off-season moves
Some division rivals were busy last night as the Marlins traded Juan Lazardo to the Phillies for SS Starlyn Caba (the team's #4 prospect according to mlb.com, but a couple of years away) and OF Emaarion Boyd (#23 and two years away).

Re: Non-NYM off-season moves
that looks like a trade i wouldn't've minded making
Re: Non-NYM off-season moves
Crap! I would have liked Pederson as the lefty DH spot.
even if they re-sign Pete (knocking wood) they will still need to upgrade the lower part of the order.

Re: Non-NYM off-season moves
That's a good value play for the Tigers, but the articles I've read on this are all criticizing them for not going for it more this offseason.
