RIP Dennis Ribant, 1941-2023

The first full-time Met starter to post a winning record died on April 24 at age 81.
Hope for the best. Expect the Mets.

One of the very first Mets I remember. Jack Fisher and Jack Hamilton also

Traded for Don Bosch. Man was Bosch hyped and unfairly so

Really interesting article thanks for posting. Interesting little trade tree points including Dennis’ moves and resulting in a World Series win. Love looking retrospectively at a players journey, seeing where it takes them and the final impact it has on teams.

Any hockey fans should check out Steve Dangles videos for Sports.net (Canada/Leafs), they do some really good deep dives tracing every draft pick and considerations that change hands.

And Don Cardwell, who was an important piece in the 1969 team.

Bosch said from the beginning that Cardwell would make the trade look good.
