I thought they'd had it with this guy and his incessant letting-the-other-team-stealing.

SNY saying Mets and Adam Ottavino have signed a deal for about $4.5 million -- about $2 million less than the option he turned down.

Hopefully he is spending the winter working on a pickoff move.

Good signing especially with Robertson being off the market now.

I think this is good news.

Certainly helps but this is still a bad bullpen getting to Diaz.

Good move. Diaz/Ottavino/Raley could be a great 'pen. Then after that, it's going to be complete and total calamity, like it was in 2023. Reed Garrett is still on the roster, for crying out loud. And Raley was kind of a surprise, but let's hope he can keep it together. Either way, Ottavino is a good one.

It's at least a mediocre one.

I expect he will strengthen the back end of the bullpen.

He helps, a little. And the money he just signed for is non-deferred, which apparently makes it worth more in the long run than what he turned down.

I was relieved when Ottavino walked and indifferent at best now that's back. I fully acknowledge that he's a pretty good pitcher, has the right experience for this team, etc. But probably no pitcher in baseball had his drawbacks exposed more glaringly in the New Stealing Era.
