Mets tied with the Nats in Palm Beaches, with a homerun by Luke Voit, derided as a windblown routine popup by Nationals announcers, accounting for the lone run.
Mets trail the Marlins 2-1 3-1 back home in St. Lucie, with all runs on the record of scheduled Opening Day starter José Quintana.
Green-and-white softball caps all around, but standard jersey colors.

Steve Cohen (noted by Steve Gelbs as not wearing green) met the media before the game and described the organization as "stacked."

As they trail 5-1 in St. Lucie, Iglesias makes a terrific stop to halt further damage but he can't complete the play, and the Marlins follow with a run-scoring fly. Now 6-1.
They go up 3-2 in Palm Beaches on an RBI single by Omar Narváez and an RBI groundout by Zack Shortbread to follow.
I think there was a suggestion that Diaz would be pitching next in the home game.

Switching back to Palm Beaches for a moment where the Mets lead 6-4.
Wendle makes it 7-4 with his second hit of the game.

Back in St. Lucie, Mark Vientos just SmAsHeD a three-run homer to left-center to pull the Mets within one and liven up this crowd in anticipation of The Edwin.

A Ben Gamel single adds to the scoring against the Nats. The inning ends with 10 Mets having come to the plate and the team up 8-4.
Back to St. Lucie for some trumpets.

Marlins get a moral victory as they put three balls in play, but all three are easy outs.
Listed as the second-base ump, but actually at second, is Jen Pawol. A few weeks ago she was publicized as the first woman to ump an MLB spring training game since 2007, but is now going unmentioned, which I guess is how it should be.

But karma pays us back, as the Nats get one in the fifth and three in the sixth and and tie the Mets up.
WE'RE TIED ALL AROUND!!

Damn it! An I've-got-it-you-take-it popup, and the Nats go up by one.

Sloppy ball by the Mets as Omar De Los Santos strikes out chasing in the top of the eighth and then loses a ball in the sun for a double in the bottom of the inning.

Luke Voit, who looks three inches taller than his listed 6'2", rips a one hopper that Nats reserve shortstop Nasim Nuñez stabs and turns into a game-ending double-play.
Thank you for being a part of it all!!

A come-from-behind victory in a game the Mets looked out of, and a come-from-ahead loss in a game the Mets looked to have in the bag!
How en-/discouragaging!!

It was a beautiful day for a baseball game at Clover Park this afternoon. Quintana had a tough outing, but the rest of the Mets pitching did pretty well. The crowd was most boisterous for Edwin Diaz's entrance to Narco. The Mets kept plugging along after falling behind early. A 3 run no doubter to left field by Vientos got the Mets back in the fame. Bader hit a scorching line drive down the left field line that I was certain was going to be off the wall. I was wrong. It got out of the park quickly. Iglesias sent everyone home happy with a walk off home run to right center. Again, I didn't think it had enough to get out when it left the bat. Glad to have been wrong.
The Mrs. & I had good seats, 2/3 of the way up. behind the third base dugout. We will be going back again to see the Mets host the Cardinals on Tuesday evening. Switching to behind the first base dugout for a little different perspective.
Tomorrow is beach (I will be under the umbrella), beer and seafood day.
