Garrett should've had Megill's spot on the OD roster anyhow, says Mets Roster Central.

We parted ways with Nancy Seaver twice, we can part from Mama Megill.

So, I guess this isn't a sick April Fools Day joke.

The Mets have starting pitching depth. Butto, Lucchesi, Scott, Hamel, Vasil. Not a lot of great names, but they're all relatively young names and not old, washed up trash heap "depth."
But if they're going the trash heap route, Zack Greinke is still on the market.

Tracksuit reporting Mets may have interest in Julio Teheran. He was with the Brewers last year.
New roster rules prohibit the Mets from recalling Butto until April 12, unless there are more injuries, Tracky says

Mets Roster Central is predicting Lucchesi even without the constraint on Butto.

This really not a big deal. The Mets lost their #6 starter who is pretty equivalent to numbers 7, 8, and 9 - mediocre pitching depth is a strength here!
The bigger news today was Manaea - if he can pitch anything like that this year, the Mets are less reliant on Severino to pretend it is 2017 again and would be fine with a more modest repetition of 2022 (or just his career averages)

These backend starters are pretty interchangeable in an acceptable way
I expect the Mets to use up to 15 starters by years end
I am interested more in getting a Mets win than anything going on with Tylor

Well, they're not unrelated.

A rough week it was for the brothers Megill.
It seems that while the Brewers were in New York, Trevor was the victim of food poisoning.
This in turn caused him to pass out while in a phone store and hit his head on something on the way down.
So he's now on the 7-day concussion list.

In the 2024 prediction thread, I said Tylor would pitch in fewer games than his brother.
Now, I'm not too sure.
