What's in Store for Twenty-Four?: Luisangel Acuña

It seems a little early in the season to be talking about me, but if you don't, you may be forced to talk about Joey Wendle or the like. So me, it is.

My brother may be the best player in baseball, but I was talking to my good friends Tommy Aaron and Ozzie Canseco the other day, and they were telling me that's no guarantee of anything. Don't believe me? You can ask Ken Brett. He was there.

I've stolen 158 bases in 377 minor-league games, so I may match my brother on the basepaths, but he's got a few inches and a few dozen pounds on me, so thinking about my last name may lead to disappointment. But think about me not as the second Acuña brother, but as the soon-to-be first Luisangel in MLB history.

Think about me like that ... and tell me what my 2024 is going to look like.

Either he or Gilbert will play in 70 games for the Mets this year, at the expense of either Bader or McNeil. Beyond that, my crystal ball is cloudy.

A September call up when the Mets are 20 games out , add some "excitement " for the end of the season.

How aggressive is Stearns with young players ?

With your speed and determination, you could definitely make some noise in the MLB.

He'll hit .128 in a brief September call-up.
