It's a-baseball.

Bonilla silliness is sadly a narrative with a long tail, kept alive by those who ain't really about paying attention to what's really going on.

I feel like it's not even part of this team anymore. Like this is a relic of the prior regime that we can just laugh at now.

I get the impression that as Mets fans we're supposed to be embarrassed by this.

If that's the case, it's not working.

Gimme a break. The way things are going, soon enough you won't even be able to buy half a house for a million dollars.

The only way this would be funny would be if they televised Fred Wilpon writing the check every year

That's one of those embarrassing things that we can wince a bit, then laugh about and put behind us, like the 1962 season.

I don't see how it's even embarrassing.
They made a deal for more money later instead of a year by year salary, a practice that isn't even remotely uncommon.
That the deal didn't turn out to be as smart as the owners thought when they made it is an issue for accountants and
since when did fans go around rooting for, or against, team pencil pushers?
I can't get even slightly worked up about this.
