Stealing a foul pop from the dugout (and from Jerry Grote) in 1969 World Series.
Taking a Dave Leonhard curve deep to put the capper on the Mets' 5-0 win in Game 3 of the 1969 World Series.

In what I tend to think of as the first important series in the history of the club (and certainly the first important one with me in attendance)
Down 3-1 in the bottom of the 9th with starters Ferguson Jenkins and Jerry Koosman still both in the game: Boswell (PH'ing for Kooz) doubled,
Agee fouled out, Clendenon (hitting for Bobby Pfeil) doubled, and then Cleon doubled to tie it. After an IW to Shamsky and a ground out by Garrett
it was left to Steady Eddie
Some may recall that Seaver had a pretty good game the following night.
They lost the third game of the set but the message had been sent, they were a real team for the first time in their history.
btw, complete games in that series for Jenkins, Kooz, Seaver obviously, and Bill Hands in game 3. Game times: 2:09, 2:06, 2:23
In the Seaver game, Ken Holtzman started to get knocked around in the 2nd inning and was pulled with just one out [3 R, 4 Hits]
in favor of submarine reliever Ted Abernathy ... who went on the finish the game!! [6.1, 1 R, 4 Hits]
