I thought Marte would get a start

Gotta get the lefty outfielders in there. It's the only righty starter they're facing in five games.

What's surprising is the middle infield, where Acuña and Iglesias are going again while Eddy Alvarez rides pine.

Iggy and Acuna are like dance partners in the middle. Hard to break them up

I mentioned Marte cause he's so friggin hot. The lefty rightly platooning is preferred but not mandatory

Of course it's not mandatory. They sat Martinez against a lefty yesterday and are playing him against a righty today. Mendoza has to juggle an offensive starting rotation that includes everybody.

Well, up until today it included everybody. Apparently Eddie Alvarez is no longer a first option against righties even though all the other infielders hit righthanded.

Marte had been starting about two games in three, and with four lefty starters in five days, this is the most obvious day to sit him. He's going to get his whacks in.
