The good news is that there appears to be a 'window' for getting this game in before le deluge.
The bad news is that window means starting the game NOW!!!! (6:47 EDT)
Game Time: whenever
Game date: whenever
Starters: one for each side, subject to change
Lindor?: maybe

Let's say Lindor is in.
Do you DH Acuna?
Martinez is garbage, Winker won't play

Would be a huge blow to Martinez 's ego, being benched for a rookie in what is so far, the biggest game of the season.

That's besides the point..
The point is whether Martinez or Acuna plays. The point is the choice between those two.

Two other options include benching Iglesias, whose workload Mendoza was careful to manage through most of the season, but has been ridden hard since Lindor went down, and benching Nimmo against the lefty, deploying Acuña in left.
Both those scenarios mostly depend on Lindor being able to start at shortstop, of course, which still seems pretty unlikely.

Yes that's the point. Is the hot rookie hot enough to stay with or do you go to the proven vet in the worst slump of the season. I figure they leave Iglesias in there given he's hot, or at least having a hit or two most nights. You suckas are dodging the question. Pretend Lindor is the DH

If there is a game, Lindor is playing short and leading off.

I would have had Lindor at short, Acuna at second (I think he played some games there in the minors ), Iglesias at third and Vientos at DH and had Martinez warm the pine.

Not that JD Martinez is all that good against Sale: .220/.267/.488 (9/41 - although 2 2Bs & 3 HRs among those 9 hits) but the kid is not likely to have
seen much like Sale during his minor league journey so you'd really be throwing him into the deep end of the pool without swimming lessons.

The real question for me is how much Lindor we're getting — 75%? 80%?
Maybe Mendoza is bluffing, putting Lindor's name into a lineup of a game he expects to be postponed.
