We’re fucking cursed. There’s no other explanation. Win 100 games. It’s not good enough for the division.
Win 87 games. Not good enough for even the third WC.
Travis d’Arnaud. Rhys Hoskins. And now we’re going to get eliminated in Atlanta.

Braves can clinch the WC tomorrow over Arizona, but the Mets are definitely in the race until Monday.
And we were blessed for the past two months. If we're cursed for a week and miss the WC, I can live with that.
OE: for all our cursedness, there's still a decent chance we'll clinch the WC tomorrow.

This team has made remarkable run in the second half of the season to put themselves on the precipice of the playoffs. Now the offense suddenly reverts to May form and all their hard work is slipping away.
So often of late the Mets seem to spit the bit when staring down the Braves late in the season with a playoff spot on the line.
