Hirings, firings, and guys who mutually agreed to leave

Post by Marshmallowmilkshake » Mon Sep 30, 2024 10:21 pm

We know the Reds fired manager David Bell in the last week.

Giants have decided to move on from president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi. Franchise legend and part-owner Buster Posey has been named the club’s new president of baseball operations, with Bob Melvin also expected to stay on as manager, per MLB.

The Miami Marlins and manager Skip Schumaker are parting ways, per the Palm Beach Post. He will get a new job for sure.
“After several constructive conversations with Skip, Peter, and ownership, we have mutually agreed to part ways, and Skip will not be returning to manage the club next year. The Marlins will immediately begin the process of searching for the next leader to serve as our new field manager,” said Bruce Sherman, Marlins Chairman and Principal Owner, in a prepared statement
Who is next? The Cardinals manager has to be a candidate.

Skip will not be without a job for long. He renegotiated his contract when Miami changed front offices (removing club control after 2024). I expect he is very likely to be hired elsewhere.
