Other than DAMN HE’S STILL AROUND Perez behind the plate, I’m pretending this is the 1976-1980 Royals vs the Yankees

I know. This brings back memories of Chris Chambliss.

I chose Royals, but I wouldn't mind seeing the Mets beat the Yankees in a WS.

You need a third option- 'Well, duh'

Of course rooting against the Yankees.

It's kinda strange that I'm actively hoping to rematch the Royals in the WS but I'd want no part of a rematch with the Yankees.

A rematch would be bad for my stress level, voice, and bank account, and the downside possibilities are loathsome. But there also is no greater potential satisfaction than winning that WS matchup.

Also: Mets can totally win that matchup. Cleveland is probably the scariest AL opponent for the Mets.

We beat the Braves last week and have now advanced past them in the postseason. Maybe this is the year we conquer all our demons.

Yeah, I do know one legit Royal fan IRL, a former co-worker who grew up there, but the Met fanbase, specifically in the region of the country where the ram has a stranglehold of, would have to endure a week of annoyances from Yankee fans, even more so if they won a second title vs the Mets!

Much easier dealing with fanbases where the most interactions with are on social media platforms ;)

I would extend that all the way to the end of that run…SHOULD HAVE BEEN US DAMNIT!!!!!!!!!

Also just add forever 1988 to a Dodger LCS matchup. Even though we are 2-0 in series against them since, getting revenge on them will never be over! ;)

I wouldn't mind beating the Royals to death in the World Series

It's the post-season, so every team out there is more than capable of tearing the pants off the Mets or any other team on a given night, but if somebody's got to be the guy to offer the useful-if-only-partially-relevant fact that the 2024 Mets swept the four-game season series from the Yankees by a combined score of 36-to-14, well, I guess I'll be that guy.

The Mets didn't even deploy Severino in any of those four games.
