After the longest road trip in human history, the Mets bring the postseason home to Flushing. Manaea vs. Nola. Let’s Go!
Hope for the best. Expect the Mets.

With Michael Mays being there, let's also make it Parents Week.

Or at least since the time when the Republican Convention kicked the Astros out of their eponymous dome for a full month.

S.I.'s Steve Rushin had a hilarious piece on that.

oe: 1992 - the Astros played nothing but road games from July 27th thru August 23rd.
Their itinerary took them from Atlanta to Cincinnati to Los Angeles to San Diego to San Francisco to Chicago to St. Louis and phinally to Philadelphia. Art Howe's club went 11-14 on that extended trip (no word on whether he lit up the plane) en route to an 81-81 season which seems like a perfect record to have when you're Art Howe.

If I hadn't already been a Spinners fan, that clip alone would have done it.

Apparently the people in the audience aren't, because they look like they were painted on, nobody really grooving with the music. (One girl is moving to the beat)

Yeah, those positions might be better off swapped.

I'd like to see Franco (or Hernandez for that matter) with a lefthanded catcher's glove, though.

To be fair, when his number was retired two seasons ago, Keith threw a “first pitch” from first base to at catcher (his brother) on the edge of the dirt circle at home plate — at least 70 feet.

Mets faced Nola twice in 2024 with vastly different results.

On May 14 he through a complete game four hit shutout with 8 K's to beat the Mets 4-0 at Citi Field.

On September 13th, though, he gave up 6 ER on 2 walks and 6 hits in 4 1/3 innings, in an 11-3 drubbing in Philly, including home runs given up to Francisco Alvarez and Brandon Nimmo.

Nola pitched pretty well in that September game, but I feel like he got rattled after the Alvarez HR.

I said this whole series was gravy and I also said I'd be happy with a split coming out of Philly. But man, that loss was disappointing on Sunday. I feel like they had so many opportunities to put them away.

All of that will be cured with a win tonight. But I definitely don't feel like this is a "house money" game.

It's a funny thing to know that from 5 p.m to about 8, 8:15, I'll be feeling nothing but pure stress, and following that I'll either be elated or despondent and nothing in between.

Postseason baseball is a lot of fun. And it looks like we should be able to experience it more often than in the past, between the wealthy owner and the expanded field.

True , although I never want to be like ( many) MFY fans where it's taken for granted and anything less than a WS is seen as a failure

I would like us to win our division more ,and have a competitive team
