I agree. Winning Game One isn't necessarily critical, but it does put pressure on the losing team to win Game Two.

The Mets have a real terrific chance to futz up the Dodger staff in a major way here.
Even when a "bullpen game" works for a team, the strategy tends to immediately necessitate the team sending two of the participating bullpenners down to the farm so they can add two fresh arms while everybody else recovers.
They can't pull that move in the post-season. If the Mets can chase one or two of these noodle-arms, that leads to one or two of the better pitchers throwing two or more innings and that throws the bullpen off schedule for the rest of this series. The strategy worked against the Padres, but the Padres didn't chase nobody and it was the next-to-last game of the series.
J.D. Martinez is going to tattoo Anthony Banda, and if the dominoes haven't already started to fall by then, they'll be tumbling from that point forward.
