Not a close call. I can survive the Mets losing. Not so sure I can survive losing my country.

The 2024 Mets have already vastly exceeded my expectations. We'll come back next year and win in 2025 while K is prez.

I guess part of this is growing up. More of this is the state of the country. But I think childhood me would be very surprised I'd pick a presidential election over the Mets winning the World Series.

If Roy Cohn or some other anti-American menace was running in 1984, I might have been fool enough to put the Mets first, but I'd like to believe my Dad would be all, "Some other time, Son."

I recall starting a similar poll four years ago* but couldn't find it.


* It was obviously more than four years ago, because by October 2020 we knew the Mets weren't going to win the World Series. It was probably around spring training of 2020, or earlier.

I'm certain that the motherfuckers who voted for the first option aren't choosing the Mets over Kamala. For them, the choice is even easier. They'd prefer that Hitler wins next month.
