Now that we have no Mets baseball, I'm looking for some podcasts for the offseason.

What Mets podcasts should I be listening to? What are you guys listening to? I think some of you might even host a few.

Non-Mets options are welcome too. Anything interesting.

G-Fafif and I are the co-hosts of “National League Town” (“Mets fandom, Mets history, Mets life”). I hope you will give us a try. https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show ... leaguetown

National League Town is wonderful!

In terms of other Mets podcasts I listen to "Meet at the Apple." It's not polished, but it's fun. The hosts work in the Mets promotions department, and they are fans, but with access to players, coaches, and the manager. It's usually pretty entertaining during my commute.

"The Mets Pod" is the official SNY Mets podcast and I find it enjoyable.

I love The West Wing, and the "West Wing Weekly" is back and discussing political movies. It's always a good listen.

Kind of along those lines, the White House Historical Association has a podcast "The White House 1600 Sessions" that I always enjoy. Lots of history and minutiae.

And, the Jay Jay French Connection has the lead guitarist from Twisted Sister talking to lots of people from the music industry.

"My Favorite Album" with Jeremy Dylan has Jeremy interviewing people - usually but not always -- musicians about their favorite album and why they like it. It can get a bit obscure, but I like it when they talk about material I'm familiar with.

Ceetar, Seawolf, ABNS and I have been hosting a bi-weekly podcast on Mets and beer for the last few years called 'Mets on Tap,' which you can find at various sources as well as on barleyprose.com - we find ourselves humorous.

I think we mostly abstain from podcasting during the offseason though.

The PBP: Voices of Baseball, Lost Ballparks and Black Diamonds are all favorites of mine.

BTW, I'm a little disappointed that FK and JCL don't have a brothers podcast like the Kelces.

You could call it "Spring Forward".

We generally leave the public speaking assignments to brother C.

I'd be hurt if you didn't do that.

Just listened to National League Town. Great stuff! I know BMFC is no stranger to the mic. But Greg do you have broadcasting experience? You’re a natural!

Never cease to be amazed by the talent of the poolers.

Mets on Tap up next.

Guys. I hope you'll take this in the manner it's intended. But I just got an alert that National League Town has a new episode. As a new fan of your show, I was looking forward to listening.

But the description suggests that you spend some time eulogizing people we've lost, including Pete Rose. I can't support that at all.

I really have no idea how a story like this gets buried. I can only imagine that you didn't know when you decided to speak about him. But Pete Rose is a pedophile. He committed statutory rape. He admitted to at least one relationship, and is accused of several others. I urge you to read the articles.

Again, his defense is not that he didn't commit rape, but that he thought the minor was 16 at the time.

And when asked about this in 2022, he answered "It was 55 years ago babe."

He's a disgusting person and a criminal. There should be no talk of him being in the Hall, there should be no statues, no tributes, no eulogies. He should be in jail, but since the statute of limitations prevents that, I'm glad he's dead. The next best thing.

Duly noted. And we do make mention of that story.

I'm sorry I came across strong in my last post. I do really love your pod. And it was dumb for me to post before actually listening to it. I expect to listen later tonight.

Pete Rose strikes a nerve for me. Actually all rapists do. My feeling is that once you've been found guilty (or admitted it in deposition testimony) from that point on, you're just a rapist. Not a baseball player. Or a real estate developer. Or a singer/entertainer whatever. Just a rapist.
