“Don’t Panic” might end up in a “Gallery of Shame” at TCD HQ. That is an awful cover.

Why was Lindor in pain all of 2023?
ON EDIT. just looked it up. He had a bone spur in his right elbow.

What happened to this Jett person?
Re: 2024 Tabloid Cover Derby Round 1.03 Feb 16 through Feb 23
He missed most of the season. A right wrist injury that seemed more of the nagging variety during spring training ultimately didn't respond to rest or cortisone injections, and he ended up undergoing surgery on June 6.
His mostly lost season saw him demoted from #1 to #2 on most Mets prospect lists. He's in the Arizona Fall League right now, mostly pain free, and putting up a .224 / .366 / .448 // .815 line in 71 plate appearances, while stealing four bases in five attempts.
Hopefully he's back on track by spring.

He’s 5’6”. I wonder if that’s the shortest number 1 prospect we’ve ever had.
Our prospects include Jett and Drew Gilbert (5’9”) and Acuna (5’8”).
Good thing there are no jump balls in baseball.

He's supposedly the shortest player ever selected in the first round.
I think the all-time shortest Met is Zack Short. He barely edges out Bill Short by actually appearing (if only for one inning) at short.

That can't be. Zack's listed at 5'10" at bbRef. Unless you were word-playin'. I think that Daniel Herrera was the shortest Met ever.

I was certainly word-playing.
As far as the actual shortest, my money would probably be on Herrera as well.
If coaches count, I'll throw some love to Matt Galante and Antoan Richardson.

It occurs to me that one of our WS rosters featured an All-Short OF. Timo, Benny, Jay Payton. Darryl Hamilton was 6'1" and was the giant of the group.
We were also pretty short in '86. Mookie, Lenny, Wally Backman. Danny Heep was only 5'11".

Not to change the subject but Danny Heep was in a crossword I did the other day—-as a Dodger
