16 is a good attempt that somehow doesn't work

Part of the reason it doesn't particularly work is that it didn't actually come on the day they honored Gooden, so the notion that 16 runs is somehow poetically appropriate is really forced, and really starts unraveling as you wrestle with the clash between the main photo featuring a road uni and the inset featuring a homie.

Got my vote anyhow because BLASTOFF! doesn't hang together either, and seems like a waste of a lot of black ink. That inset photo is mostly blank space and I imagine that they tried to use it as the main photo so they could put text and other elements in between the two streams of fireworks, but they just couldn't make it work.

16 would have been somewhat better had they used the Mets uniform font.
