He's mine, Jake Magnum. 4th round pick in 2019 out of Mississippi State. CF, switch-hitter. All-time hits leader in SEC history. Currently with the Cyclones, batting leadoff, wears #8, 6'1", 190.

One day, they'll compare him to Jeff McNeil.

What caught my eye was this commentary at the press conference after his final college game (scroll for the video):

To care about his assistant coaches this deeply says a lot about his character.

He was a walk-on in college and played the last two years without a scholarship so the school could give it to someone else:

At Mississippi State, they called him "The Mayor". Tell me you don't want this passion and fire on the Mets:

If you're going to be in the Flowood, Mississippi area at the end of the year, Jake Magnum is co-hosting a hitting clinic:

Anyone with a family name that is a size for a bottle of Champagne has greatness written all over him.

Jake had a strong season in Binghamton and looks like a 4-category player. I suspect that we'll see a lot of him in ST '22 and that he starts the season in Syracuse.

One of these days he'll make the majors. He's gotta. .306/.363/.441 in 2022. .298/.346/.425 at Triple-A in 2023. .328/.376/.428 at Triple-A this year. .294 career average. .312 Triple-A average. The fates must align at some point.
