Thanks Ben for reminding he was still unadopted.
He was the Mets only Futures Game representative, and tossed a scoreless inning.
He's a 2023 draftee and has pitched at both A and AA this year.
His combined record is:
6-1 1.71 ERA 73.2IP 42H 28BB 85K.

Go get 'em kid.
Make me proud.

As the second half of the season gets underway, Sproat has been recognized by Baseball America as the midseason top performer for the Mets. Following an impressive start to his professional career, he was recently ranked among the Top 50 prospects by the same publication.
Sproat, who started the season with the High-A affiliate in Brooklyn, was promoted to the Double-A Binghamton Rumble Ponies on May 13. Throughout his time at both levels, he has excelled, maintaining a 6-1 record in 14 games (13 starts) with a remarkable 1.71 ERA, while limiting opposing batters to a .168 average.

The hard-throwing right-hander has racked up 85 strikeouts compared to 28 walks in 73.2 innings. According to Baseball America, his powerful pitches have been a challenge for hitters across the minor leagues.

Basically the rest of the Mets' top 10 (other than Christian Scott, who I'm not sure still qualifies) have either had down years or lost years, so Sproat is our grounds for optimism.

The Mets are promoting Brandon to Syracuse.
In 2024, Sproat has posted a 2.05 ERA between the High-A and Double-A levels. He has thrown 87 2/3 innings and has struck out 110 while allowing only 51 hits. He spent only 25 1/3 innings in High-A to begin the season (1.07 ERA and 33 strikeouts), before being promoted to Double-A where he posted a 2.45 ERA across 62 1/3 innings.

Sproat has been placed on the development list, which means he probably won't be pitching again this year.
The development list is often utilized to help organizations monitor prospects' usage and development while still allowing them to stay with their team and continue learning.

It isn't very surprising to see the Mets utilize this with Sproat at this point in the season, as he's already reached a career-high 114.1 innings of work across three levels of the minors.
