I've seen three: A COMPLETE UNKNOWN, NICKEL BOYS and EMILIA PEREZ. All three were good.

I'd like to see ANORA and THE BRUTALIST (might actually see that one tomorrow).

Don't know much about THE SUBSTANCE or I'M STILL HERE.

Not interested in seeing WICKED or DUNE: PART TWO.

I would see CONCLAVE when it comes to TV.

Conclave was nominated for (I think) 8 awards and the director wasn't nominated.
That doesn't happen very often.

When they upped the nominated movies to ten but left directors capped at five, instances of 'snubbed' directors inevitably became a yearly story.

It'd be very weird, over two decades later, if Adrien Brody won a second Best Actor Academy Award, again playing an Eastern European Jewish Holocaust survivor in a film beginning with THE, ending with -IST, and having two syllables in between.

I think it was at the Golden Globes Awards that someone congratulated Brody for surviving the Holocaust twice.

That said, today is Holocaust Remembrance Day.

I've not seen THE SUBSTANCE; DUNE: PART TWO or WICKED but I have now seen the other seven.

I would vote, in order:

THE BRUTALIST
ANORA
A COMPLETE UNKNOWN
I'M STILL HERE
EMILIA PEREZ
NICKEL BOYS
CONCLAVE

I wouldn't be upset in any of the top four won. Can't understand CONCLAVE winning the SAG and BAFTA Awards. It was just okay.

The only one I've seen, so far, is Conclave. (Just last week, on Peacock.) It was good, but it didn't really smell like a Best Picture.

I haven't seen any, but my notion is that Conclave got honors from SAG because it's a film carried by actors acting.

That may very well be. It has a good cast.

... which I have read may hurt Ralph Fiennes in the best actor category because many critics considered this an ensemble-type movie.

Yes, and that is why people thought it won the SAG Award. The BAFTA has me puzzled, however.
