Yankee fans leaving the ballpark is pretty hot too.
Even better- Met fans cheering without any Yankee fans to respond.

The funny thing is, that, in addition to all the homers they've hit today, they've scraped the wall about four times (with deep flies, doubles, and a single) as well.

Ravetch just mentioned the Subway Series record of six HRs in one game by the Yanx in 1999
What he failed to mention is that the Mets won that game (9-8).
That was the Matt Franco/Mariano Rivera walk-off. One of the most exhausting game to watch I can remember (3:47).

Everybody has good reason to feel good, but Adrian Houser is getting touched here while pitching for his life.

I'm not sure those boots are regulation baseball wear, but that's not bad hitting form, especially for a guitarist.

The next time the Mets play in YS III, they should wear home uniforms.

The thing is though that they built up so much equity early in the season (they were freakin' 45 - 19) that they STILL have the third best recordLefty Specialist wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 9:41 pm It's really kind of surprising the Yankees are this bad.
in the AL (barely behind Baltimore & Cleveland) and fifth best in MLB [PHI, LAD] despite playing sub-.400 ball (15 - 25) since June 6th.

Fell asleep putting my kids to bed so I missed most of this one. What a nice score to come back to!
Ottavino getting the W for one out in the 5th inning of a 10 run victory really puts the LOL in that stat. Official scorer should have credited the Win to Young (which one? he shouldn't say, that is the fun part!)

I wonder what sort of sample size you need for predictive value in 'recent' games versus ones earlier in the year - Looking at two .500 teams on July 1st, is a team that went 10-20 in April, 15-15 in May, and 20-10 in June more likely to finish with a winning record than one that did exactly the opposite?Frayed Knot wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 10:40 pmThe thing is though that they built up so much equity early in the season (they were freakin' 45 - 19) that they STILL have the third best recordLefty Specialist wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 9:41 pm It's really kind of surprising the Yankees are this bad.
