Francisco Lindor would be nice to have back. Especially
since he's signed through like 2030.

What a May this May has been!!

I advocated for a reserve infielder. I don't know if it would "get this team going" and I didn't suggest such a thing. I believe it would be a simple way to improve the team. Their middle infielders are playing poorly, sometimes playing hurt, seemingly fighting themselves, and can use a break.

But if you'd prefer a shrine to a fake voodoo figure over a Hall-of-Fame shortstop in his prime, I'd certainly take the latter.

I didn't say I preferred one over the other.
We have both recognized the need for a reserve infielder such as Iglesias to balance the roster (and give some others a rest). But I feel the hitting needs a boost that a reserve infielder could not provide. They need more.
The Jobu figure was in jest. But when you said they need another infielder, I felt it would have to be a strong bat and Banks was the first analogy I thought of. And I named a name.
At this point, I'd take anyone who can jump start the offense.
Who would you suggest?

You made an excellent point and in doing so, answered your own question. The Mets need a reserve middle infielder but that's hardly gonna solve the real issues. What the Mets need is the prime of Ernie Banks.

Or Babe Ruth.

This is silly. Of course you did.

You literally wrote that you thought a voodoo shrine was needed.

You literally wrote that it would take Ernie Banks in his prime to make a difference.

I disagree.

You may have been trying to be funny, but denying it's what you've written is pointless. As is changing the standard after the fact from "make any difference" to "get this team going" to "jumpstart the offense."

I'd rather have a reserve middle infielder on the roster than a voodoo shrine. I don't think I should have to go back and forth in a bunch of semantic silliness to qualify that notion.

"Of course you did" ???
No I didn't. It happened to be the sequence in which I wrote them but had nothing to do with, nor did I use the word "prefer"., nor did I mean to imply preference. That was your interpretation.

Just ignore him. You'll never get him to concede anything. You'll only get three pages of ambiguous goal-post moving bullshit and absurd rationalization that everybody will have stopped reading after the third post.

Of course you're right on this exchange. You never said what he claims you said.

You agree with the statement "I happened to be the sequence ..."? That's really where you're at?

You agree with me that they need a reserve infielder, so why should that be controversial?
