Well a 3-1 lead with three outs left to work with. I smell a 3-2 Mets defeat. Prove me wrong boyos

Our offense is awful ,but the Rays just keep trotting out dominant arms

Second time this week we've scored Nimmo leading off the 1st inning ... and then didn't score again.

I'm not sure that's on Otto, or entirely on Otto as Pete was far afield. It might have been McNeil's ball, if it was anyone's.

One run and it was helped by a dropped/unseen fly ball. Meanwhile, Oakland scored 20, PHI scored 14, TX scored 15, and SD scored 13.

It seems that the Mets don't score 20 runs in a typical week.

At least Christian Scott was as good (probably better) as we could have hoped for. He showed that being aggressive and throwing strikes can be very effective while also keeping your pitch count down so you can stay in the game longer. Hopefully, we get to see more of him this season.

We got to see Scott, which is awesome. The Mets have a pretty deep core of minor league starting pitchers to turn to. It's not all a bunch of future superstars like the quinquevirate were supposed to be, but it's a good core.

Scott
Hamel
Vasil (he's struggling now, though)
Tidwell
Suarez

Not to mention guys with MLB experience like Lucchesi and Kranick, who has done well in limited work so far at Double- and Triple-A.

Followed by a muff in RF and then a poor tag at the plate.
We needed all three of those to score our lone run.

Well, at least the Mets capitalized on the Rays mistakes.
