Threading In The Game 5/24 @SFG

Post by Johnny Lunchbucket » Tue May 24, 2022 6:51 pm

Another 9:45 start, Bassitt opposes RHP Logan Webb, who's 5-1, 3.54-- or about the Giants' best guy out there.

Zimmo
Marte
Lindor
Alonso
McNeil
Escobar
Canha
DoSmith DH
Nido

They need to stop screwing over Guillorme

I'm waiting for my JD Davis catching experiment to launch.

Is Guillorme the 'emergency catcher' or has been lobbying to try?

is this what you referring to (trying to make it sound like Omar said it):
He said Guillorme has told him he’s even ready to step in as catcher in an emergency situation, if needed. Showalter, who had significant time to study his new players this past offseason during the owners’ lockout, said he asked around about Guillorme and the infielder has been “as advertised.”

Added Francisco Lindor of Guillorme’s all-around impact on the Mets: “Every team needs a player like that.”

I always wonder why more utility infielders DON'T offer themselves as emergency catchers. Emergencies rarely arise, you can't do it poorly enough to catch a lot of blame for screwing the pooch, and it's a certain kind of insurance against getting sent down, traded, DFAed. Where's the downside?

Speaking of Giants, these uniforms are a giant mess. Looks like the color of a salmon's asshole.

First two outs come chasing garbage outside the zone.

As for myself, I can't tell one piscine anus from another. Never could.

Same pitch ultimately gets three different guys chasing for strike three.

McNeil should have been running on 3-2.

McNeil just (probably) saved a run by playing a carom neatly off the right field wall ... as a secondbaseman.

Nogo showing why maybe we should've gone to the pen a bit earlier.
