IGT — NYM@LAD, 4/18/2023, 2015 Redux

The Mets might have fallen to the Dodgers in the 1988 post-season, but they beat the Los Angelinos down on the way to the 2015 pennant. And if history has any meaning, that's the history we can draw from as we witness the matchup of the National League's only pitcher to win his first three starts against Clayton Kershaw, who still sees images of Daniel Murphy whenever he closes his eyes.

Wow, that lineup looks very un-Dodgerish.

Good to get Nimmo a DH day after his two bellyflops last night.

Taping Mets FF tomorrow morning so nobody tell me the score before then.

Chronologically, the 2006 Mets swept the 2006 Dodgers between 1988 and 2015.

Well, the IGT faeries are hoping to revisit that tomorrow night.

Way too many straight pitches to J.D. Martinez.

Outman is a tough name for a rookie slugger.

That inning had something for everybody. Mets lucky to get out of it with one run only scored

But a three-run hole to Kershaw, smelling his 200th win, is a ... tough hole to be in..

Lindor gets the Mets in the hit column in the fourth.

The Pham-in-center decision is kinda biting the Mets tonight.

Megill is overthrowing and seemingly at the end of his rope.

Megill got out of that with almost nothing working for him.

I'm so alone.

I'm here, just totally uninspired by the Mets tonight

Well, you can be inspired by the seventh-inning Mets, who have really ground out their at-bats, with Canha grinding out a 13-pitch single before McNeil follows quickly with a tingle of his own. TYING RUN AT THE PLATE!

The story tonight is certainly Kershaw, but the Mets could have come out cleaner and tighter.

Oh, well. I got to pilot five IGT wins. I cede to Kershaw.

I'm glad this one was played at an absurd hour and that I witnessed none of it in real time. Probably for the best.

Daughter No 1 had to be at Dublin airport for 4am so I was up at 3 am and actually caught the mid-innings on the radio on the way back and during my pre work nap.
Honestly Showalter needs to quit this not playing Alvarez nonsense, and if they do the same with Baty it'll drive one mad.
