Mets edge out of the jam on a strong play by Francisco Lindor, and are now in the process of going meekly in their half of the inning.

Mets have absolutely tattooed two balls now — one each by Taylor and Nido — and both have improbably ended up in Brendan Donovan's glove.

That's three. There kind of was no doubt that Donovan would catch up with that last one.

They finally get one that Donovan can't catch, but elect not bunt the run home as St. Louis did, so they once again come up empty.
The squeeze rulez.

Quint finishes the sixth for the first time this season.
With 79 pitches expended, I'd love to see him come out for the seventh, but I'm not optimistic.

There goes trouble! Opposite field game-tying shot for Delroy Lindo.

Q-Tip becomes the first Mets starting pitcher to throw a pitch in the seventh this season, and amazingly finishes the inning, still only 92 pitches into his afternoon.

Jose Quintana into the 8th. See how much more effective you can be when you're not trying to throw 110 miles per hour and strike everyone out?

Easily gets the first two batters on a few pitches, but gets pull'd before .... NO!!! He stays in to face Contreras!!

Oh, that's a good move leaving Quintana in. I was gonna be annoyed.

Analytics guys must be short-circuiting right now. How could Quintana have possibly succeeded?
Beep boop beep boop formula says pull Quintana. Beep boop must follow formula no matter what beep boop.

His first time through eight as a Met. Here's to you, Qbert!! And a glass raised to Mendoza for sticking with him!
Now let's win it for them.

Say the offense gets the team four runs. Do they give Quintana a shot at the complete game?

I also like Lindor spiking his bat after the walk. My analytics support that move.

DJ Stewart is only slightly more aesthetically appealing than Vogelblob. Stewart looks like if you squeezed him hard enough, a dozen hot dogs would eject from his various orifices.
