I love the introductions -- but it was better when the players wore their regular uniforms!

That said, the National League's uniforms look better than the American League versions.

The thing with the kids and cowboy hats is a little goofy. The rope trick guys, too.

Cody Johnson seems sober. That's an improvement over last night.

Nice! Nolan Ryan, Fergie Jenkins, Pudge Rogriguez, and Adrian Beltre with the first pitch.

And the NL squanders its first scoring opportunity. Nice double by Harper -- surprisingly appearing in his first All-Star Game as a Phillie.

Cool stat: Paul Skenes is the youngest pitcher to start since ... Doc Gooden.

And Skenes allows a walk and then gets Judge to hit into a force out!

when's Nimmo bat?

Tarik Skubal gets a one-two-three inning. Kind of cool that the home plate umpire is wearing the mic.

Imanaga's cap is odd. Seems like the other team has the regular team cap logo, but Imanaga's has the Cubs jersey logo instead of the C cap logo.

Mason Miller from Oakland, I don't know any of his pitches were below 100 mph!

Tommy Greene of the Reds is not fooling anyone. After two near misses, he gives up a two-run bomb and the AL takes a 5-3 lead.

Freddie Freaking Freeman in the game at first. I think if Pete gets in, it's going to be as a pinch-hitter.

I love the All-Star Game. This was a decent one despite the score.

I haven't watched an All-Star Game since, I think, 1992. But I saw some photos from the game and those uniforms are ridiculous. I can't imagine that enough people buy them to make it worth killing the tradition of players wearing their own uniforms.

And now we play the waiting game. I miss the days when the 2nd half resumed on the Thursday after the game, at least for some of the teams.

And there are no minor league games above Dominican Summer League and Florida Complex League scheduled for today, either.
