I have nothing, but needed a thread to ask this lazy question:
Are split (two ticket) doubleheaders also 7 innings per game or just the
traditional (formerly real) doubleheaders?

Both 7 innings under the current situation.

And yet, the tickets are the same as for a 9-inning game. WSH has been making their doubleheaders day/night to get two gates.

The 7 inning doubleheaders are already incredibly dumb.
But 7 inning split doubleheaders are indefensible. Is Washington only charging 78% of the ticket price?

The thing is, these 7 inning games, along with declaring extra-innings to now be illegal, give teams even more of an incentive to schedule split DH's since they can slate the start times closer together.
Only five hours separate first pitch of Games 1 & 2 tomorrow. With 9 innings and the mere threat of Xtras, they'd be taking a huge risk trying to schedule that close and still give themselves time to clear, clean, then refill the house.

And they're probably hoping they can squeeze both games into less than eight hours (total elapsed time) so they don't have to pay staff (grounds crew, ushers, vendors, etc) overtime. Cheap bastages.

If I said it once, I've said it a thousand times: way to go, Nationals!
https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2 ... bob-boone/
The Washington Nationals are undergoing a staff shake-up after mandating a vaccine requirement for non-playing employees, including the impending departure of longtime front-office adviser Bob Boone. The Nationals also told eight scouts that their contracts will not be renewed for next season, according to multiple people familiar with the situation, with two of those decisions based on unwillingness to comply with the vaccine mandate.

Can't read without subscribing. Most sites give a couple of freebies at least
but I guess they think they're above that. Not surprised.

Knice to see lefty Alberto Baldonado in the Nats bullpen having finally made his MLB debut yesterday against the Phillies after being signed by the Mets way back in 2010 and laboring for them until 2017 before becoming a free agent and then bouncing all over the place until finally getting his chance with a scoreless inning yesterday.
