Twenty-One Prediction Fun: Marcus Stroman

Post by Edgy MD » Fri Apr 02, 2021 10:12 pm

I left your ass hanging in 2020. That was my right, and I'm not particularly sorry, but it's your right to be disappointed too. So I've got to be doubly effective to earn some love.

I'm Marcus Stroman, and that's basically the gist of it. I'm a small package, but I'm fit, athletic, confident, and I'm a little wired. You better hope that adds up to something, and I pitch somewhere in the range of the my salary, because I'm sort of a key player this year. I'm the second best starter, and if I can pitch like it, that lengthens the staff in the right way, takes the heat off other starters, the pen, the offense ... but if I come up empty ... oh boy.

I bailed last year, and I'm playing for a contract this year, so I've really put all my chips on 2021. I can't make promises. All I can say is that I've got skin in the game. I want this as much as anyone. But wanting ain't having, so if you can see six months into the future, maybe you can fill me in. In the meantime, enjoy my glove of gilt.

Chip on the shoulder with a chip on it's shoulder, and so on. I think he has ability, and I wanna see him pull off a great but I worry that there's too much wrapped up in his wild motivation...there is a lot that could go wrong.

Talks too much, doesn't always back it up. 12-10, 4.00.
The answer to the question "Can people really be that stupid?" is always "Yes."

Too many writers picking him for a breakout season, raving about his stuff.
They convinced me - 17-7 3.29

Later
I blame Susan Collins
"Never underestimate the power of stupid people in a large group". George Carlin
I have never insulted anyone. I simply describe them, accurately.
