Twenty-One Prediction Fun: Michael Conforto

Post by Edgy MD » Sun Mar 14, 2021 10:22 pm

You've got to give me that long-term deal. You've just gotta. After all, there's buzz about giving one to Syndergaard, and he's coming off major surgery, and isn't even on the field yet. Batters are much better investments then pitchers over the long haul, and I'm coming off my best season ... to the extent that you can call that a season.

Yeah, I mean, I did hurt myself pretty badly on a non-contact injury — which is the sort of thing pitchers do, but come on! I'm 28-ish, I'm 11th all-time in homers for this franchise, just outside the top 10, and that's something to take to the bank.

So tell me about about this year. How am I going to perform, and more importantly, how am I going to get paid?

And hey, check out the guest-starring role in this vid played by my new teammie, Kevin Pillar.

Breakout: .330, 35, 120. I remember his father, a backup linebacker who came up big in one particular defensive series against Maryland in 1977, and I've believed in the kid ever since. Even though he wouldn't be born for another 16 years.

Something less than the numbers of the young freaks of the league but an MVP type year in like the 70s. 33-104-290-390-490

Regresses a little in BA but maintains his power stroke.
.285, 28, 86

The .412 BABIP is utterly unsustainable, but last year's performance will keep teams out of the shift on him. .280/.370/.490, with 30 HR and 95 RBI.

Growing, showing, missing nearly a month with a nagging oblique situation: 510 PA, .270/.358/.488, 22 HR, 81 RBI, 76 R, 3 WAR or thereabouts

Yup, he'll be up to the task. 34/105, .325 and a new contract.
Even duct tape can't fix stupid. But it can sure muffle the sound.
