I feel like I bring things full circle, because the first free agent that Sandy Alderson brought in was D.J. Carrasco, and while that was pretty disastrous, now he's acquired me, and Deej is back as one of the organization's pitching instructors. it's a Carrasco thing.
Hopefully this deal isn't disastrous also, even though it's one of those deals centered on an All-Star infielder from Cleveland. You shouldn't make too much of that. PLEASE don't make too much of that ... c'mon guys.
Seriously. I don't need that sort of jinx. I'm currently more or less the team's number two starter, and yeah, I may just be keeping that slot warm for Stroman and/or Syndergaard, I don't intend to give it up without a fight, and only you know how that fight is going to work out.
And yeah, my arm totally feels fine. Totally.

Elbow weirdness is nothing! Comes back a week into the season to make 30 starts, throwing just shy of 200 innings with a 3.38 ERA, 10.6 K/9, 3.1 BB/9, and 16 wins! There's no problem! It's all good, baby! Why am I smiling so HARD?

Gets blown out in his first start, Glavine-In-His-Most-Important-Game-As-A-Met style, causing citywide panic.
Then throws 27 1/3 straight scoreless innings.

Gotta' see if his arm soreness is just that before I predict anything.
I'll come back to this at the end of Spring Training.

Better than Porcello or Wacha, not as good as Wheeler, in 2021. First Met starter to 10 wins for what that's worth

180 IP, 13-7, 3.15 ERA. Not an innings eater, but a rock solid #2 when he takes the mound.

New Mets pitcher Carlos Carrasco strained his right hamstring during conditioning after throwing batting practice Thursday and seems certain to miss the start of the season.
He'll return in May, and go 12-8 3.68.

Worries here. Two injuries before even making an appearance? Yikes!
deGrom, Stroman...pray for postponement.

Nobody gives poor Peterson any respect. The guy was 2nd best starter last year (out of two good ones, sure) and probably a top-5 performer overall and his reward? Gets his uni number slashed by 54 digits, and like 6 new competitors who all seem to have better reps and better chances.

In my head, I was pronouncing it "POST-PONE-MANT". I know...sloppy.

Just turning up the speed on the treadmill. He wants respect? Cool-- just do it again. Or something close to that. Elsewise, he can check out his first-round bonus, or whatever it bought him, and think happy thoughts.

It's just ... a lot of folks are counting on you to get the rust off by opening day. I know you'll get there!

Rehab set backs push return to baseball pitching activities until June and he
doesn't return until after the all-star break. Creates fan controversy because
the Mets are rolling like a well oiled machine.
