I'm not sure what the final total was, but President Trump was polling at only around 33% among Mormons back in 2016.

A revolution is unlikely to put Utah back in play, but it can certainly hurt among the Mormon diaspora in other states. And it's not unprecedented, but it would have to be a sustained campaign to have the impact it needs.

It's certainly a bizarre strategy on Trump's part, even before you get into the whole legality of it.

Swift already had a ton of potential power given her popularity particularly among women in younger age groups who don't often vote in large numbers.
It's like he's asking her to react and throw all that weight behind Harris and/or suggest that Swifties everywhere should seek out local candidates who
support abortion rights. Not sure if she'll touch that last rail but she's got a big hammer with which she can smack him over the head.
