...unrelenting attacks and selective prosecution. ... I also believe raw politics has infected this process and it led to a miscarriage of justice
If Biden is using this rationale, then he should also pardon Trump and urge the governors of New York and Georgia do the same. I don't think a federal pardon would cover state charges. This would help the sitting president. It would show that the era of "lawfare" and weaponizing the judicial process is bad for both sides and should stop. This also helps the prosecutors, as the possibility exists that Trump will win those cases either on appeal or outright. A preemptive pardon would save them from defeat and looking like the former president was targeted for political reasons. Everyone moves on.
What fucking audacity to compare Hunter Biden to the crook-elect. He "got away with it " because the Senate shirked its duties and because the judiciary is now as rigged and corrupt as it ever was. Maybe four years from now, he'll storm the Capitol again to hold onto office illegally under whatever premise and we should forgive that too. But that's OK because what's important to you is that women shouldn't have abortions even though you yourself can't get pregnant.
And were supposed to coddle these fucking maniacs and understand them and be nice to them even though they live in a bizarre alternate reality of QAnon and babies being aborted after birth and where you can stave off Covid by shooting bleach up your ass. Stupid and uninformed maniacs who are going to drag this country into hell.
They're so fucking stupid that they believe all of that nonsense. Too fucking stupid to distinguish between something published in the NYT and on Tik Tok. Their ignorance is stunning.

All of the pearl clutching by talking heads over this is moronic.
We need to stop pretending the rules haven't completely changed and that accountability is a predictable outcome. Dems consistently taking the "high road" and pretending that we still have a 20th century political system is part of how we got here.
Joe Biden has ZERO fucks to give, nor should he. In my mind, this was always inevitable given Biden's strong attachment to his family.
Good for him. I never cared about Hunter's transgressions to the point that they were magnified. Endless Hunter-hunting would have served as a mighty distraction the general public over the next two years (just like it was the past six).

Yes. The Dems keep getting Charlie Brown footballed.

I care. Every subversion of the system subjects us all to more lawlessness.

From Jasmine Crockett (D- Texas):
Because at the end of the day, we know that we have a 34-count convicted felon that is about to walk into the White House,” Crockett said of Donald Trump in an appearance on MSNBC.
I would say take a look in the mirror because we also know that when it comes to this Cabinet, this Cabinet has more people accused of sexual assault than any incoming Cabinet probably ever in the history of America

Hunter Biden’s Pardon Has All the Idiots Riled Up
Announcing his decision, the president got straight to the point.
Excerpt:
I myself always have thought “Because fck you/him/her/them, that’s why” to be a perfectly adequate explanation for any action taken. So I am ready and willing to attribute most of the weekend’s news to that most durable human motivation. The difference is that the president-elect is saying, “Because fck you, that’s why” to democracy while the current president is saying, “Because fck you, that’s why” to the president-elect, and that, frankly, makes all the difference.
[***]
This, of course, has caused the birth of many bovines across the starboard half of our politics. This started with the president-elect, who will be free to pardon all his shock troops from the January 6 insurrection against the government a month from now.

Nah, If that was good enough for Joe Namath, it would be good enough for us.
LOL!

the only problem with the Hunter pardon is that he didn't do it 4 years ago for 'optics' or whatever. Instead the Democrats let the fascists use Hunter as a talking point. As people are pointing out, he should pardon every death row inmate and every person in jail for having a little weed.
But that he/they won't even lame duck a ton of good governing is representative of why people didn't turn out to vote for them.
Honestly any 'media' person that talked about Hunter's laptop should be fired. The constantly only applying rules and consequences to democrats is infuriating.

I know. Jeez already with Hunter Biden. The psychopath nominated Matt Gaetz, Tulsi Gabbard and Kash Patel for his Cabinet. It's the biggest fuck you to America that there ever was. Maybe tomorrow, he'll put his typewriter daughter Ivanka in charge of printing the money.

Yeah. You do that. Go run over to Clarence Thomas's house to lodge a complaint the next time the fucking liar-elect is caught red-handed with classified top secret documents that shouldn't have been in his possession. Run.

I wasn't presuming anything. And stop telling me how to write posts. You don't like sarcasm. That's your problem. The answer is to take out this court, not to try and persuade it. Their mind is made up before the offense is even committed. If you think otherwise, you're very naive. I disagree with you. Fighting this court is not the answer. Fighting this court is pointless.

Can we talk about the absurdity of "He faced up to 25 years in prison in the gun case and 17 years in the tax case". Both of these things are bureaucratic. Fine the guy for back taxes, take away his gun, and let's move on. There's no reason to lock someone up for something like that (see above, re: black people in jail for weed), and it only came to light because republicans were looking for something to charge him with.

I don't know what you're talking about with giving orders. What I do know is that there's an awful history here with you policing my fucking words and posts arbitrarily without a shred of rhyme or reason over absolute nonsense like skullfuck and the letters c, u, n, and t appearing in the names of Mets. You want it both ways and every other way: You want to write 40 posts a day, every single day, pontificating on every subject under the sun, but without anybody blowbacking or dissenting or disagreeing with you.

Democratic Sen. John Fetterman agrees.
https://thehill.com/homenews/administra ... onviction/
Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) said President-elect Trump deserves a pardon in a Thursday appearance on “The View” shortly after President Biden pardoned his son Hunter Biden.
“I think that it’s undeniable that the case against Hunter Biden was really politically motivated, but I also think it’s true that the trial in New York for Trump was political as well, too,” he told host Joy Behar.
“In both cases I think a pardon is appropriate and I really think collectively that America’s confidence in these types of institutions have been damaged by these kinds of cases, and we cannot allow these types of institutions to be weaponized against our political opponents,” he added.

Fetterman also voted for Kamala. So if the psychopath that you voted for wants to step down and relinquish the Presidency to Kamala, because that's who Fetterman voted for, I'd go along with pardoning the psychopath that you voted for. We could also ask the psychopath's dead father if he thinks his psychopathic son deserves a pardon. And then we could ask Melania and the ¢*#% (rhymes with "bunt") fraud Ivanka, too. Maybe Fetterman also thinks that David Wright belongs in the Hall of Fame? Wright smiles a lot.
