Post Holiday Question

Did you get as many holiday cards in the mail this year compared to previous years?

We didn't.

Apparently one did. He can't get away from the tell.
I have never insulted anyone. I simply describe them, accurately.

Nope...but our family didn't send out any either. Our habit of sending out cards was interrupted during the COVID years and never resumed.

I have noticed this too.

Last year we got from Baseball Mom, Chewy, a car dealer, our financial advisor, our daughters family, and our paper girl and my mom.

This year Baseball Mom, our financial advisor, a local realtor and his partner, my brother and his wife, my cousin and her husband, a former neighbor, our paper girl, and my son and daughter in law.

I guess that’s progress
:)

But really, it’s a charming and fairly inexpensive way to reach out so it’s puzzling why it’s fallen off.

Price of postage I guess

I stopped sending cards in 2009 or 2010, and as a result, understandably, people stopped sending them to me as well. I got only one card this year that was from a friend and not someone thanking me for their business.

Westill send cards to family and close friends. However, in the electronic age of emails and social media, both the number of cards we send (and receive) has steadily declined over the years.
When did the choices get so hard
With so much more at stake
Life gets mighty precious
When there's less of it to waste

I think about the same as recent years. There is a guy I worked with 30 or so years ago who moved to Seattle. I’ve seen him on the couple of occcasions I’ve been there since then. Every year we get a card and a long photocopied letter from his wife (who I’ve never met) mostly talking about what has been going on with their three sons (who I have also never met).
