I accidentally skipped a day last week and my streak got reset. Back to 6 in a row today. Spent the weekend getting some lucky threes.

This is strange. I don't play every day, yet my streak does not reset when I miss a day. It did reset to zero months ago around the time the game moved over to the NYT. And then after that, for a while, the streak counter would reset every day even if I played the day before.
Strange and quirky.

That was harder than I expected given my 4/5 right out of the gate.

A 6 for me too, could have been a three but I kept choosing the wrong second to last letter

It's a real dilemma in those cases. If four or five different single letters can complete a word, do you guess the most common letter first (with the lowest Scrabble value) or the most common word?
I don't know the answer. I got it in four, but I imagine it was only luck keeping me from six ... or worse!

i got it in six. oddly, i struggled with the first letter, because i'm an idiot.
but my strategy is to try to eliminate all the mid-value scrabble letters first, as they're often the sticky wickets.

If you don't play in hard mode, you can guess a totally different word using as many of those letters as possible, and lock it in (usually) with just one guess beyond that one. I didn't do that yesterday but have employed that strategy in the past.

This is a diabolical strategy you are endorsing.

50 in a row for me as well. Got a 0 on my first word and then a 5 on my second. Now I need a new backup word if I whiff on word 1. Now my 2s equal my 6s.

I can smell you back there over my shoulder. A streak of 49 suggests that your last miss was IMPEL. A tricky one, that was.

I'm currently at 19. I last missed on WORRY. I Wordled successfully 227 times in a row before I had my first miss. I've now missed seven times in 399 games, which means that since my first streak ended, I'm 165 for 172. My overall percentage is 98.245 and 95.930 over the last 172.
