I stopped playing Wordle when it migrated to the NYT and all of my stats were lost. Then this thread happened and it revived my interest in Wordle. I play it regularly now. But I don't get this competition youse are having. The game is easy and virtually all luck at this level. Like totally lucky. I don't get the point. If youse were playing against first graders, then skill would matter and your vocabulary would come through as a competitive advantage. But what fun is playing against a first grader? But when youse play against each other, it's all luck. Especially when the universe of wordle words is very simplified and the difficult or obscure or scientific or very seldom used words are not included in the game. Youse might as well be having a contest to see who can throw the highest numbered dice roll.

i take it as vindication (or repudiation) of my chosen wordle strategy. and also as fun. so whatever.
1s and 2s are probably mostly luck-driven, outside of the abnormal influence your starting word carries. (and probably whether or not you're playing off a list of already-wordled words)
the rest you could make the case comes down to strategy in flipping over blank tiles.
