Al Pacino, 83, has a 29 year old girlfriend - Noor Alfallah. Before Pacino, she dated Mick Jagger. Before Mick, some 50 year old billionaire. She's also rumored to have dated Clint Eastwood.

Someone asked me what will be my summer drink.
I really hadn't though about it but this year I will be drinking Bud Light in support of the LGTBQ+ community.

Ew. Bud Light isn't really beer. Drink this instead. Your buddies will certainly, um, notice.

I can't drink much alcohol, but when I do I only drink low-carb (low sugar) beer.

There are designs and sayings and people honored on the back of U.S. Quarters ... but even with a magnifying glass I can't make out most of them.

I've been seeing this same ad pop up on my smartphone often over the last week -- that Loni Anderson just turned 96. That would mean that she was in her 50s at her popularity peak in the late 70s. No way.

I was recently stunned to find that Charo is in her early 70sbatmagadanleadoff wrote: ↑Thu Jun 29, 2023 1:10 pm I've been seeing this same ad pop up on my smartphone often over the last week -- that Loni Anderson just turned 96. So she must have been a teen when I can first remember her
Re: The More or Less of Whatnot Thread 2023
Charo's age is a subject of dispute. She was allegedly 20 when she married a 66-year-old Xavier Cugat, but a lot of folks have theorized that she was closer to 15.
As for Ms. Anderson, the claims of sidebar clickbait celebrity "journalism" should be dismissed with extreme prejudice.

Do we have any details?
As this develops, maybe it deserves its own thread.

Re: The More or Less of Whatnot Thread 2023
There's a link on NYT site and app "The Athletic' and when you click on it
it gives you a bunch of log-in choices and one is 'log-in with NYT account.'
Now I have to make sure I'm not paying double. I need a personal assistant
to keep track of subscriptions, streaming services, possible duplications and
that on top of still having some Fios entertainment. Probably getting soaked.
Sorry, that 'more' whatnot than less...

Why would they eliminate the standings? It costs nothing and takes up very little space. Doesn't make sense.

So then what will the LA Times sports section have? Features? What's left? It'll be like the old monthly SPORT magazine, I guess.
Re: The More or Less of Whatnot Thread 2023
I was upset when The Sporting News stopped printing spring training box scores. There was no internet in those days to provide the information. It was the first to go down a very slippery slope. What have they wrought?

Re: The More or Less of Whatnot Thread 2023
Dear readers,
Today, we are introducing a new era for the Los Angeles Times sports section.
The printed sports section will take on the look and feel of a daily sports magazine, with a different design showcasing our award-winning reporting and photography. Our new layout highlights our best, most ambitious sports journalism — distinctive work you cannot find anywhere else.
We are making this change to adapt to how readers follow news and sporting events each day while managing rising production costs. You no longer will see box scores, standings and traditional game stories, but those will be replaced by more innovative reporting, in-depth profiles, unique examinations of the way teams operate, investigations, our distinct columnists’ voices, elite photography and more.
We remain heavily invested in covering sports spanning Southern California and beyond, with the journalists you know well dedicated to chronicling your favorite teams and athletes while also introducing you to newcomers who soon will make their mark.
You can still find local game results, breaking news, instant analysis, commentary and more as games and tournaments are unfolding at latimes.com/sports and via our L.A. Times app. And please sign up for our sports report newsletter at latimes.com/newsletters to get the latest developments delivered to your email inbox early each morning.
I am honored to continue highlighting the incredible talent on the L.A. Times sports staff and look forward to helping guide readers to all we have to offer in our print edition and online. For assistance using your print subscription to access all of our online offerings, visit membership.latimes.com or call (213) 283-2274.

Why is low dose aspirin 81 mg? Is 80 mg too low, 82 too high?

Because it's a quarter-dose of aspirin, which was found to be helpful in preventing heart attacks while reducing stomach irritation. Aspririn is both a blood thinner and a stomach lining annoyer.
Full-strength aspirin is 325 mg, so technically it's 81.25 mg.
