Treat Williams, 71, in a motorcycle accident.

After 42 years of fondness for the title, I just got around to watching Prince of the City this weekend.

Sad news , seemingly beloved by all that knew and worked with him, one of those actors that you'd see in a movie and go oh yeah that guy, he's great

Scheduled for the 32nd and last of our opening-round matchups (we are currently on 22) in pursuit of the coveted All-Time Greatest Jet title.

He will not be competing as a kicker, but as a rare kicker/quarterback.

I'm just now learning there were three sequels to The Substitute without Tom Berenger. That was a really 1980s film for 1996.

It's pretty much the same movie as Jim Belushi in The Principal and a half dozen other you messed with the wrong teacher white guy fantasies.

Christy Dignam lead singer for Irish band Aslan died peacefully at his home today after a long illness.

Christy Dignam was a a beloved person in Ireland. Aslan had some cracking songs that probably never made it outside Ireland, still, one of the best, saw them many years ago and the place was hopping

I enjoyed No Country For Old Men quite a bit. The Coen brothers, while trimming it up a bit for the cinema, seemed to me to be pretty true to the source material.

I appreciated The Road but I can't say I enjoyed it. Maybe the saddest book I ever read in my life. (I did not see the movie, knowing how dark the book was, I had no interest in it).

I recently attempted, and gave up, on his (supposed) magnum opus Blood Meridian. I found it disjointed and aimless.

Farewell after a terrific 93-year run to celebrated spider-artist John Romita. Also noted as co-creator of Wolverine and Mary Jane Watson-Parker, among others.

Good writer. And creator of the lamentable Ball Four sitcom, which gave him the other-side perspective critics often never get.

Enjoyed Arkin in tons of things, including Argo, and also as a detective in Gattaca and a Russian agent in Mother Night (very underrated Vonnegut adaptation with Nick Nolte, John Goodman, others).

Alan's son Adam was an actor with a decent resume to his credit although I briefly met his less famous acting son Matthew when he and my brother did some regional theater in Pennsylvania many moons ago.

I never did ANY theater. I don't have a performing gene in my body.
This was brother C. and Matthew Arkin doing LOST IN YONKERS in, I believe, Allentown circa early 90s?
