That's two deaths announced today and they're both dudes with connections to the JL/FK family.

So if anybody asks, I don't know those guys.

His early work popularizing the Heimlich Maneuver probably saved hundreds if not thousands of lives.

Fact I should have known but didn't: "At the conclusion of the (Sema-to-Montgomery) March, Bennett was driven to the airport by Viola Liuzzo, a mother of five from Detroit, who was murdered later that day by the Ku Klux Klan.

The last time I saw him was at Newark Airport.
We were waiting for my daughter to arrive from a vacation.
We were in the lounge area and saw Tony buy a magazine in the gift shop and go into the men's room. He stayed in there about a half hour. Maybe he didn't want to be bothered by fans while waiting for his plane.
And my wife and I were surprised that nobody else recognized him.
But he had that Tony Bennett smile, and we'll never forget him

Suaimhneas síoraí. A legendary talent, and seemingly deeply unhappy person.

Lately went by Shuhada' Sadaqat, and earlier as Magda Davitt, which gives a picture into how unsettled she was. Ordained as a priest in the breakoff Trinitine Catholic Church before converting later to Islam.

Her cover of this Bob Dylan song on the second Very Special Christmas album is beautiful. One of my favorite Christmas songs that isn't really a Christmas song.
